Tamarix pictures

Tamarix is a tall tree, which grows to a height of 3 to 8 meters. Its old branches are upright and dark brown in color. Its young branches are dense and thin, often drooping after spreading out, swaying in the wind, which is very beautiful. In addition, its leaves and branches can be used as medicine to treat some common diseases of humans.

Farming methods

1. Soil

The choice of soil is very important when growing Tamarix. This plant is salt- and alkali-tolerant and likes moisture. The potting soil for growing it should be neutral or alkaline, and it should have good air permeability and water permeability. If you prepare the potting soil yourself, you can choose leaf mold and honeycomb coal slag and add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer.

2. Fertilization

The root system of the tamarisk plant is very developed. It does not need to be fertilized frequently during normal cultivation, but it should be fertilized every 20 days or so. The fertilizer should be diluted nitrogen fertilizer, but after it enters the peak growth season, the amount of fertilizer needs to be increased, and some long-acting compound fertilizers can be selected.

3. Watering

Tamarix is a plant that is particularly drought-resistant, but it prefers a warm and humid environment. When growing it, you should keep the soil moist and water it every 3 to 5 days. In addition, when growing tamarisk, you should also pay attention to timely pruning. You can remove its old and dead branches in time. Only in this way can you promote the growth of new branches and make it a beautiful tree.

4. Lighting

Light is also an important condition for growing Tamarix. It is a strong sun-loving plant that usually likes plenty of sunlight and cannot tolerate shade. Therefore, it must be placed in a sunny environment during normal cultivation. However, in the hot summer weather, it still needs necessary shading.
