Lilies are usually propagated through fresh bulbs, but many people in life don’t know how to plant them after buying fresh bulbs. In fact, the planting method is not complicated. I will write it out and tell you later so that you can easily learn how to plant lilies. 1. Disinfection of bulbs When you buy fresh lily bulbs, they must be disinfected before planting. You can use a 600-fold solution of thiophanate-methyl or thiophanate-methyl. It is best to soak the fresh lily bulbs in the drug solution for half an hour, then take them out, rinse them with clean water, and then place them in a cool place to dry. 2. Planting method When planting lily bulbs, you should first fill the bottom of the flowerpot with about three centimeters of soil, and then put the bulbs in. In each flowerpot, you can put 2 to 3 bulbs in sync with the edge of the pot. Only in this way can the plants be evenly distributed after the bulbs germinate. Cover the top of the bulbs with ten centimeters of soil, then water them enough and place them in a cool place to dry. 3. Storage of lily bulbs Lily is an annual ornamental plant. After blooming every year, its bulbs need to be preserved. In the past, the roots of the lilies needed to be cut off after blooming. At this time, the lily bulbs are already lacking in nutrition and need to continue to be fertilized and cultivated for a period of time. After another month, the bulbs can be dug out, and then the fibrous roots can be cut off and refrigerated in the refrigerator for a period of time. They can be planted again in the spring of the following year. 4. Fertilizer and water management After planting lily bulbs, be sure to keep the soil in the pot moist. You can water it every 3 to 5 days, but do not allow water to accumulate in the pot, otherwise the bulbs will rot. In addition, lily bulbs do not require much fertilizer after planting, so do not apply excessive fertilizer at ordinary times. Fertilizer once every half a month is sufficient. You can choose long-acting Aolv or thin cake fertilizer water. |
