Cultivation method of Jianlan

1. Potting soil

Jianlan is best paired with a simple and elegant flower pot. The color of the flower pot should not be too fancy, but simple and rustic. Many people will choose a purple sand pot. When planting Jianlan, you can put some pebbles or broken tiles at the bottom of the flower pot. One-third of the flower pot can be filled with pebbles or broken tiles. The best choice of soil for planting Jianlan is: burnt soil, peanut shells, pond mud, which should be dried and pounded into granules.

2. Lighting requirements

Jianlan prefers scattered light and dislikes direct light. It needs about 70% to 80% shading in summer and autumn, and 30% shading in winter and spring. When growing it at home, you can use the doors and windows of the house to provide shade.

3. Watering method

When watering Jianlan, you should water it thoroughly. Before watering, you should observe whether the orchid pot needs water. If the soil is not sticky when you touch it with your hand, or the surface of the soil in the pot turns white, you should water it in time. When watering, you should wet it evenly. You can also use the immersion method, put the whole pot of Jianlan in water, and let the water slowly seep into the pot from the small holes at the bottom of the pot.

4. Temperature requirements

The most suitable temperature for Jianlan to grow is 15℃ to 23℃. If the temperature of Jianlan is controlled at 0℃ to 12℃ in winter, it will bloom more beautifully next year. When the temperature is high in summer, it is necessary to cool down and ventilate appropriately. When the temperature exceeds 35℃, watering should be reduced to keep the pot soil relatively dry.

5. Fertilization method

Jianlan usually chooses agricultural compound fertilizer for fertilization, 3 to 5 grains per pot, do not fertilize too much, otherwise the roots will rot. Fertilizer should not be too close to the rotten roots. After the fertilizer is applied, cover it with orchid soil and water it the next day.
