How to graft jujube trees? Introduction to jujube tree grafting methods

Grafting of jujube trees is a feasible method of propagating jujube trees themselves. The branches or twigs of better plants are grafted onto jujube trees to form new plants. This is a very common sowing method for plant propagation. Now we will introduce the jujube tree grafting method to you.

Introduction to the grafting method of jujube trees

1. Time for grafting jujube trees

The time for grafting jujube trees should be chosen at the right time. Usually, spring, summer and autumn are the most suitable seasons for grafting jujube trees. For branches grafted in spring, you can choose before the branches sprout, while in summer or autumn, the branches should be more mature, that is, more woody scion conditions. Because the jujube tree needs a larger forest when grafting, the diameter of the scion should be controlled below one centimeter, otherwise it will not help the plant survive after grafting.

2. Material preparation for jujube tree grafting

The materials needed for jujube tree grafting are very important. First, prepare suitable sturdy scion plants with well-developed root systems, and secondly, well-developed branches.

3. Methods and steps for grafting jujube trees

Step 1: Cut off leaf buds that are about ten centimeters or shorter. It is best if the leaf buds still have leaves.

Step 2: Cut the tassel obliquely with a knife, leaving an oblique section of about 2.5 cm at the location where the scion is needed.

Step 3: When cutting the ears, do not remove the pith; it is better to leave the woody material.

Step 4: Place the leaf buds on the ears and tie the two together with a plastic band.
