How to make mung bean paste

Ingredients for making mung bean paste

When making mung bean paste at home, you need to prepare 200 grams of mung bean, 15 grams of lotus seeds, an appropriate amount of water, an electric rice cooker, and an appropriate amount of rock sugar or honey.

Mung bean paste production steps

1. Wash the prepared mung beans with clean water in advance, and then soak them in clean water for a few hours. While soaking the mung beans, also clean the lotus seeds.

2. Put the soaked mung beans into the rice cooker, add clean water, turn on the power and start cooking. After all the mung beans have bloomed, turn off the power, take out the mung beans and filter them to get mung bean paste.

3. Put the prepared lotus seeds back into the pot, add rock sugar and cook together. After the rock sugar is completely melted, take out the lotus seed and rock sugar water, put it in the refrigerator after cooling down, take it out after a few hours, mix it together with the prepared mung bean paste, and a portion of cool and refreshing mung bean paste is ready to be eaten.

4. If you don’t like putting rock sugar in mung bean paste, you can use honey instead. However, honey should be added later and it cannot be exposed to high temperatures. You can add honey to the boiled lotus seed water before putting it into the refrigerator and mix well.
