Let's take a look at how to judge whether food has gone bad.

How to tell if food is spoiled

1. How to judge whether yogurt has gone bad

The acidity of yogurt is a relatively intuitive method of judgment. The main component of yogurt, lactic acid bacteria, will change rapidly under the influence of warmth. If it is out of the cold chain, the lactic acid bacteria in the yogurt will multiply rapidly and increase in number, causing the yogurt to taste more and more sour. If the yogurt feels sourer than usual, it is spoiled.

Potatoes and other tuber products contain phenol oxidase and polyphenols for antioxidants. These two substances are more likely to undergo oxidation reactions, resulting in the loss of vitamin C. Therefore, potatoes and other foods are not suitable for direct consumption. It is better to blanch them in hot water first.

3. How to judge whether milk has gone bad

If flocs appear after heating milk, it means the milk has gone bad. The protease in the milk will denature and coagulate under heating, and there will be a lot of microorganisms in the spoiled milk, which will destroy the structure of the milk. Therefore, it is not recommended to drink milk with flocs after heating.
