The difference between sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes

I'm sure everyone has heard of sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes, and in the eyes of most people, sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes are the same food. In fact, this understanding is wrong. Sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes are two completely different foods. If you don't believe it, you can read my introduction to the difference between sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes. After reading it, you will understand that sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes are completely different.

The difference between sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes

1. Sweet potatoes and yams belong to different plant families

Sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes are two different plants. The difference between them is like that between radishes and potatoes, because sweet potatoes are a kind of legumes, and sweet potatoes are a kind of Convolvulaceae. Their skin, leaves and fruit shapes are obviously different.

2. Characteristics of sweet potatoes

Sweet potato is a white round substance. Its skin and flesh are both white, and the skin can be peeled off directly by hand. After harvesting, the skin can be removed and eaten directly. It tastes crispy and tender, just like fruit, but with a faint earthy smell. Sweet potatoes can also be cooked into porridge or made into other dishes. They can provide people with some vitamins and trace elements, but the seeds of sweet potatoes are extremely poisonous and cannot be eaten by humans.

3. Characteristics of sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are mostly red in appearance. They are also the rhizomes of a herbaceous plant. They are mostly oval or oblong in appearance. Sweet potatoes are a food with excellent nutritional value, which is incomparable to sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes contain a large amount of natural pectin and cellulose as well as a variety of amino acids. After people eat them, they can fight cancer and protect the heart, while sweet potatoes do not have these effects. This is also the biggest difference between the two.
