The origin of the name "Tomato"

We all know that tomatoes are a kind of vegetable, and many people like to eat them. So how did tomatoes come from? Let me tell you in detail:

Origin of Tomato:

Tomato, as the name suggests, comes from "Fanbang".

The original English name of tomato comes from the Asticans who founded the civilization in Veracruz, Mexico. In English, it is Tomato, in French, it is Tomate, in Spanish and Portuguese, it is Tomate, and in Italian, it is Pomidoro (which means golden apple). In Chinese, it is called tomato. When it was introduced to Japan from China in 1655, it was called Tang persimmon, Tang eggplant, and later it was called red eggplant. This name has been used until today, and some places still retain this name.

Because of its bright color, it is generally considered a poisonous fruit. Tomatoes grow in the jungles of Peru, where they were called "wolf peaches". In the 16th century, a British duke named Oralari traveled to Peru and liked the local peaches very much. So he brought them back to the British palace as a precious gift to his lover, the then Queen Elizabeth of England. Since then, tomatoes have been planted in large quantities in foreign lands, but only for viewing.

In the 18th century, a French painter could not resist the temptation and decided to risk his life to taste the "wolf peach". He bravely took a bite and found it sour and sweet, but he was still frightened when he thought of people's warnings. So he dressed and lay on the bed waiting to die. Time passed slowly in anxiety and fear. He did not feel any discomfort, but his appetite increased greatly. After 12 hours, the adventurous painter was still alive and well. From then on, he could not help eating tomatoes frequently. The funny story of the painter who was not afraid of sacrifice and bravely tried tomatoes spread everywhere.

By the late 18th century, Italians began experimenting with cooking with tomatoes, and the dish spread around the world.
