Vegetables and herbs help fight lung cancer Which vegetables can fight cancer

I didn’t expect that the vegetables we eat every day, such as soybeans and Japanese mushrooms, can actually prevent cancer.

Soybeans and Japanese mushrooms can fight cancer

His mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. In order to reduce her suffering after chemotherapy, a Chinese-American scientist who was originally a botany researcher discovered anti-cancer substances from common vegetables and Chinese herbs.

The scientist is 62-year-old Dr. Sun Zhixuan. His mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer 16 years ago. Seeing that his mother was suffering a lot after chemotherapy, the filial scientist wanted to cook some Chinese herbal medicine soup for her, hoping that she would feel more comfortable after drinking it. Unexpectedly, it was of great help to his mother's cancer.

After taking a decoction containing 19 kinds of anti-cancer plants for three months, her mother's condition improved significantly. Later, the doctor also removed the tumor in her mother's lung.

Mrs. Sun has been living a healthy life to this day without any trouble from cancer cells.

Soybeans and Japanese mushrooms contain anti-cancer substances

Of the 19 plants that Dr. Sun has found to have anti-cancer effects, 11 have been confirmed to contain anti-cancer substances, all of which can also be found in soybeans and Japanese mushrooms. As for the anti-cancer components of other plants, further research is needed.

According to Dr. Sun, anti-cancer substances are found in very common vegetables and herbs, including: soybeans, red dates, shallots, garlic, lentils, leeks, hawthorn berries, onions, angelica root, licorice, dandelion root, safflower root, ginger, olives, sesame seeds, parsley and ginseng.

The anti-cancer ingredients in soybeans include: genistein, daidzein, estradiol, sedative, bioflavonoids, protease inhibitors, saponins, inositol hexaphosphate, and lectins.

In recent years, many foreign studies have mentioned that Japanese mushrooms and soybeans have anti-cancer effects. For example, genistein and daidzein, which are particularly abundant in soybeans, help inhibit cancers caused by human hormones, such as breast cancer and prostate cancer. Studies have found that genistein can even prevent tumor blood vessel growth and inhibit certain destructive enzymes, making it difficult for tumors to divide.

As for the glucan and lentinan in Japanese mushrooms, they mainly help to enhance immunity and indirectly achieve anti-cancer effects.

Dr. Sun, who grew up in Taiwan, went to the University of California, Berkeley to study botany in 1967. In 1971, he transferred to the Rockefeller University, a private university in New York, to start a new life and engage in anti-aging medical research.

In 1975, he transferred to the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, which is famous for its cancer research. Later, his mother's lung cancer inspired him to study Chinese medicine.

"My father passed away in 1971. His death was a great blow to me. I was very sad at the time and felt useless. What good was it to be good at botany? I was powerless to help my beloved relatives. I wanted to engage in medical research at that time."

This PhD student, who originally studied botany, was already familiar with the traditional Chinese medicine classic "Compendium of Materia Medica" by Li Shizhen. During the time when his mother was suffering from cancer, he read an average of two to three Chinese and foreign books on anti-cancer every day, so he quickly mastered the pharmacology of many Chinese medicines and plants.

Dr Sun will be in Singapore on September 11 to give a public lecture on cancer.

Two U.S. agencies funded Phase 3 study

Dr. Sun is currently conducting a series of experiments in the hope of proving that his prescription is effective in treating lung cancer, thus bringing a ray of hope to lung cancer patients.

He established a research institute in Connecticut, USA in 1990, and frequently conducted experiments on mice. He also allowed some cancer patients who voluntarily requested to take this prescription to take it. The results were very significant. The US Food and Drug Administration recently approved Dr. Sun to conduct a phase III clinical study.
