Effects and functions of cornmeal steamed cowpea

In summer, people usually make steamed cowpeas with cornmeal, which is very delicious. It is one of my favorite foods, so today I will introduce it to you:

Corn has the effects of strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness, regulating the middle and stomach, and promoting diuresis.

It is very suitable for people with spleen deficiency. Modern nutrition also believes that corn contains a lot of nutrients. The cellulose content in fresh corn is 6-8 times that of refined rice and refined flour, which can reduce the concentration of cholesterol in the blood and thus play a role in preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

The greatest contribution of corn to mankind is that it is rich in pigments that dye corn golden - lutein and zeaxanthin (a type of carotene). Although they are not nutrients, their functions are better than nutrients. They are powerful antioxidants that can protect the photosensitive area in the eye called the macula and prevent age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.

Corn contains a variety of anti-cancer factors

Such as glutathione, lutein and zeaxanthin, trace elements selenium and magnesium, etc. Glutathione can handcuff carcinogens with its own "handcuffs", making them inactive and excreted from the body through the digestive tract. It is also a powerful antioxidant that can accelerate the inactivation of aging free radicals and is the most effective anti-cancer substance in the human body.

Cowpea commonly known as carob

Ginger beans and cowpeas are mild in nature, sweet and salty in taste, and the seeds contain a lot of starch, fatty oil, protein, niacin, vitamin B1 and B2. The main functions of cowpeas are to strengthen the spleen and kidney. It can treat spleen and stomach weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, thirst, spermatorrhea, leucorrhea, leucorrhea, frequent urination, and has a good effect on treating spleen deficiency. According to the Compendium of Materia Medica, "It regulates the middle and replenishes qi, nourishes the kidney and strengthens the stomach, harmonizes the five internal organs, regulates the Ying and Wei, and produces essence. It stops thirst, vomiting, diarrhea, frequent urination, and relieves rat poison."
