Half a pumpkin, 200g glutinous rice flour, 1 packet of red bean paste

How to make glutinous rice pumpkin

1. Preparation: Peel the pumpkin, wash it, cut it into pieces and put it into the steamer. Steam it over high heat for 20 minutes.

2. Mix the dough: Take out the steamed pumpkin and mash it into a paste. Add glutinous rice flour and mix it into a harder dough. Let it rest.

3. Roll the dough into strips of about 20 grams each; roll the red bean paste into strips of about 10 grams each; press the dough into a sheet that is thick in the middle and thin at the edges, put the red bean paste filling in, and wrap it into a ball. Press the upper and lower parts of the ball with your fingers, and use a toothpick to press out marks from the bottom upwards to form a raw dough.

4. Place the steamer on the fire, add appropriate amount of water, put in the raw dough after the water boils, and steam on high heat for 5-8 minutes.

Tips

1. If you like strong sweet taste, you can add 50 grams of white sugar when kneading the dough.

2. I didn’t add sugar because the red bean paste filling itself is sweet. If you put too much sugar, the taste will be a bit sweet.
