Cherries are rich in nutrients and have the effects of regulating qi, strengthening the spleen and stomach, and removing rheumatism. They are good for loss of appetite, indigestion, rheumatism, and body pain. Regular consumption of cherries can nourish the skin, make it rosy and white, and remove wrinkles and spots.

Cherries contain a lot of iron and a certain amount of cyanogenic glycosides. If you eat too much, it will cause iron poisoning or hydroxide poisoning. For mild discomfort, you can use sugarcane juice to clear away heat and detoxify.

Cherries are warm in nature, so people with fever or cough due to deficiency of heat should avoid eating them.

Cherry belongs to the genus Ceraras in the Rosaceae family and is a temperate deciduous fruit tree. Cherry matures early and is known as the first fruit of early spring. There are four types of cherries cultivated as fruit trees in my country: Chinese cherry, sweet cherry, sour cherry and hairy cherry. Cherries are red like agate, as big as bullets, as small as pearls, watery and shiny, and very tempting.

Cherries are not only colorful, but also delicious and nutritious. They contain carbohydrates, proteins, calcium, phosphorus, iron and multiple vitamins. In particular, the iron content is as high as 6 to 8 mg per 100 grams, which is 20 to 30 times higher than that of apples, oranges and pears. The vitamin A content is 4 to 5 times higher than that of apples, oranges and grapes. Therefore, eating cherries can promote hemoglobin regeneration and prevent cancer.

Cherries also have medicinal value. Their roots, branches, leaves, cores, and fresh fruits can all be used as medicine to treat a variety of diseases. In particular, they can promote the regeneration of hemoglobin, which is beneficial to patients with anemia. Li Shizhen, a pharmacist in the Ming Dynasty, recorded in "Compendium of Materia Medica" that cherries have multiple medicinal effects such as invigorating qi, removing rheumatism, clearing rashes, and detoxifying. (Cherries are hot in nature, so people with febrile diseases and wheezing and coughing should not eat them. Cherry kernels contain cyanogenic glycosides, which hydrolyze to produce hydrogen cyanide. Ingestion may cause poisoning symptoms.)
