Red Bean and Apple Porridge

Red bean and apple porridge is a heat-clearing, detoxifying, spleen-benefitting and stomach-benefitting porridge. Here is how to make red bean and apple porridge:

Ingredients: 150 grams of red beans, 50 grams of glutinous rice, 150 grams of apples, 1 kiwi, 1 cup of raspberries, 1 spoon of honey, and appropriate amount of water.

How to make red bean and apple porridge

1. Soak red beans and glutinous rice in clean water for several hours.

2. Core the apple and cut into small pieces. Peel the kiwi and cut into small pieces for later use.

3. Add appropriate amount of water to red beans and glutinous rice and bring to a boil over high heat.

4. Turn to low heat and cook until the red beans are soft. Put them into a food processor and blend them into a uniform paste.

5. When the temperature drops to 80 degrees, add honey.

6. Add apples, kiwis and raspberries, mix well and serve.

In a study conducted by the University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, overweight middle-aged women were divided into three groups. After 12 weeks, it was found that the women who ate apples and pears lost 1.22kg, while the weight of the women who ate oatmeal cookies did not change much. Apples are high-fiber, low-calorie foods.
