Galangal Porridge - Sheng Hui Volume 97

[Prescription] 3 liang of Alpinia officinalis (filed), 1 sheep spine (pounded).

【Functions and indications】Coldness of the spleen and stomach, asthenia, emaciation, and inability to eat.

[Usage and Dosage] Use 1 dou of water to boil 2 ingredients, take out 5 liters, remove the bones, etc. Take out 2 and a half cups of juice each time, use 2 he of rice, add onion, pepper and salt to make porridge and eat it; or use the noodles to cook (not eat) dumplings as a soup.

[Prescription] 0.5 liang of galangal (filed), 2 he of polished rice, 0.5 fen of old tangerine peel (soaked in soup, remove the white pulp, and grind into powder).

[Functions and indications] Coldness in the heart and abdomen often causes pain, or the pain may occur when encountering wind and cold or eating raw or cold food.

[Usage and Dosage] Use 3 large cups of water to boil galangal and old orange peel, take 1.5 cups of juice, remove the dregs, add rice and cook porridge. Eat on an empty stomach.

[Prescription] 6 fen of Alpinia officinalis (filed), 3 he of rice.

【Function】Cold pain in the heart and abdomen, or when exposed to cold wind or eating raw or cold food. Cholera, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.

[Usage and Dosage] Boil galangal in 2 liters of water, take out 1.5 liters, remove the residue, add rice and cook into porridge.

Galangal Porridge - "Caring for the Elderly and Serving the Parents"

[Prescription] 2 liang of galangal (cut, boil with 2 liters of water and extract 1.5 liters of juice), 4 he of green sorghum rice (grind and wash).

[Functions and indications] Coldness in the elderly, heart pain, depression, and fullness in the flanks.

[Usage and Dosage] Cook the above ingredients into porridge with ginger juice and eat it on an empty stomach, once a day.
