Explanation of the meaning of porridge: Lychee, also known as Lizhi and Danli, is the mature fruit of the plant Litchi of the Sapindaceae family. It is mainly produced in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Sichuan and other places. Lychees are sweet and delicious, rich in nutrition. Yang Guifei of the Tang Dynasty loved to eat lychees the most. The saying "A horse gallops through the dusty world and the concubine smiles, no one knows that it is lychees coming" made lychees known to women and children, and has been popular for thousands of years.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, litchi is sweet, sour and warm in nature, and enters the spleen, heart and liver meridians. It has the functions of strengthening the spleen and replenishing qi, nourishing the liver and replenishing blood, regulating qi and relieving pain, and nourishing the heart and calming the mind. The Compendium of Materia Medica says that it is "neutral and non-toxic, and can cure smallpox in children". The Yuchu Yaojie says that it "warms and replenishes spleen essence, and warms and nourishes liver blood". Cooking porridge and eating it can strengthen the spleen and nourish the liver, nourish the heart and replenish blood. It is very effective for people with deficiency of both heart and spleen, insomnia, loss of appetite, and palpitations.

Note:

1. Use with caution in patients with yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire;

2. Don't eat too many lychees to avoid "lychee disease". Lychee disease is actually a reaction to low blood sugar. Mild symptoms include nausea and weakness in the limbs, and severe symptoms include dizziness, palpitations, and cold sweats. When this happens, you can take lychee shells in water or inject glucose intravenously to relieve the symptoms. If the condition does not improve after the above treatment, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.
