How to plant passion fruit seeds? Passion fruit seed planting method tutorial

With the continuous improvement of living standards, passion fruit, which was originally only available in southern China, can now be bought all over the country and is especially hot in the market. After eating passion fruit, many people want to use its seeds to directly plant passion fruit, but they don’t know how to do it. Today I will talk about this issue specifically for you.

1. Collect seeds

If you want to plant passion fruit seeds directly, you must buy the naturally ripe passion fruit. After eating its flesh, take out its seeds, wash them with clean water, and then place them in a cool place to air dry. After drying, store them and take them out when you want to plant them.

2. Soak

Before planting, passion fruit seeds must be soaked in warm water. The water temperature should be around 30 degrees, so that the seeds can absorb sufficient water and accelerate their germination. In addition, the soaking time of passion fruit seeds in warm water is directly related to the maturity of the seeds. The more mature the seeds are, the longer the soaking time is, and the water cup needs to be slightly higher. Most of the time, it should be soaked in warm water for 5 to 6 hours.

3. Germination

If you want to plant passion fruit seeds, you must germinate them. When germinating, you must do it in a backlit place, and choose a warm environment with appropriate moisture and good air permeability. When germinating passion fruit seeds, you should wrap the soaked seeds with wet gauze or a wet towel, and then put them in a small basin. Rinse them with 30-degree warm water every day. After 5 to 6 days, the seeds will grow new shoots.

4. Choose the right pot

Usually when people grow passion fruit at home, they will plant it in a flowerpot. At this time, you must pay attention to the correct selection, because the passion fruit plant will be relatively large when it grows up, and the root system will be relatively developed. At this time, you must choose a flowerpot with a large diameter and relatively deep. You can also plant seeds in a small flowerpot, and transplant it directly into a large barrel-shaped flowerpot after it sprouts and grows.
