How to preserve loquats How to preserve loquats

Loquat is a delicious, nutritious, and special fruit that can moisten the lungs and relieve coughs, clear away heat and detoxify. It is mostly available in mid-May every year. After it is available, many people like to buy it in large quantities, but they don’t know how to preserve it after returning home. In fact, there are many ways to preserve loquats. I will write them down and tell you in a while, so that you can easily understand the preservation methods of loquats.

How to store loquat

Loquat is a fruit that is suitable for storage in a dry and ventilated environment. Usually, after people buy fruits, they will habitually put them in the refrigerator when they get home. However, loquat is not suitable for storage in the refrigerator. If you usually only buy three or five pounds of loquat, you can put it in a cool, ventilated and dry area after you get home. This way, it can be preserved for about a week without deteriorating. If you put it in the refrigerator, after two or three days, the loquat will turn black and deteriorate and can no longer be eaten.

How to keep loquat fresh

1. Use pine needles to preserve loquats

If you want to keep loquats fresh, you can use pine needles to preserve them. Just spread the fresh and clean pine needles directly on the dry ground or floor, and then spread all the fresh loquats you bought on the pine needles. This can effectively extend the shelf life of the loquats and keep them fresh.

2. Use jars to store loquats

If you want to keep the loquats you buy fresh and not spoil, you can store them in wine jars or small jars. Before storage, you should cover the bottom of the jar or small jar with straw, put the fresh loquats in, and then cover them with sacks or bamboo curtains and place them in a cool and ventilated environment. This way, the loquats can be kept for more than 20 days without spoiling, and the loquats will still be as fresh as before when you take them out and eat them.
