What foods are incompatible with wine? What foods should not be eaten with wine?

There are very few foods that are incompatible with wine, almost none, but it must be noted that when drinking wine, it is best not to pair it with pickled fish, bacon, etc.

What foods are incompatible with alcohol?

Avoid seafood

Red wine with red meat follows the rules of gastronomy itself, as the tannins in the wine combine with the proteins in the meat to start digestion almost immediately. Although fresh salmon, swordfish or tuna, which are rich in natural oils, can pair well with light-bodied red wines, when paired with certain seafood, such as a fillet of Dover sole, the high tannin content in red wine can seriously damage the taste of the seafood and the wine itself may even have an unpleasant metallic taste.

White wines are also generally good with white meat dishes or seafood. Some white wines may be overshadowed by beef or lamb, but they will be elevated to perfection with sole, shrimp, lobster or grilled chicken breast.

Avoid vinegar

Various salads usually do not affect the style of wine, but if they are mixed with vinegar, it will dull the sense of the mouth, make the wine lose its vitality, and the taste will become dull and bland. Lemonade is a good choice because the citric acid in it can harmonize with the character of the wine.

Cheese and wine are a natural combination, just be careful not to pair spicy cheeses with light-bodied wines, or vice versa.

There are choices for pairing spicy food with wine

It may be difficult to pair spicy or strongly flavored foods with wine, but pairing them with wines that are particularly spicy or fruity can be a great match.

Chocolate can sometimes have an adverse effect on the taste of wine, and some people claim that it can be successfully paired with aged Cabernet Sauvignon. Banfi Bacceto de' Aqui wine is an excellent and delightful match with chocolate, especially dark chocolate. This Italian wine has a delicate and crisp fruit flavor, and just enough natural acidity to balance the richness and sweetness of the chocolate, while keeping your mouth pleasantly fresh and clean.
