A few days ago, a pregnant woman who was more than 7 months pregnant was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and the reason was related to her eating too much watermelon recently.

If you eat too much watermelon, you will consume too much sugar. Due to physiological changes in the endocrine system of pregnant women, the body's insulin is relatively insufficient, and the stabilizing effect on blood sugar decreases, resulting in a high concentration of sugar in the blood, which can cause gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes is an important cause of miscarriage and premature birth in pregnant women. Therefore, pregnant women should not eat too much watermelon. Some pregnant women eat fruits without restraint, and some pregnant women consume too much high-sugar foods, which are all causes of gestational diabetes.

When is the best time to eat watermelon?

Don't eat watermelon before or after meals. This is because the large amount of water in watermelon will dilute the gastric juice.
