Method of grafting cymbidium cactus

1. Method of grafting Schlumbergera with Ophiopogon japonicus - Time

The grafting time of Christmas cactus can be chosen in late spring, early summer, or early autumn. If it is chosen in the south, the best time is mid-May, which is the same period when Christmas cactus and cymbidium grow vigorously. You can choose cymbidium as the rootstock, the temperature and scion time are most suitable, and the rot rate after grafting will also be reduced.

2. Method of grafting Schlumbergera with Oleander - Rootstock

Christmas cactus can choose Osmanthus fragrans as the rootstock. The healthier and more vigorously growing branches with flower buds on the top are more suitable scion objects, while Osmanthus fragrans can be used as the rootstock after being cut into single pieces.

3. Method of grafting cymbidium with cymbidium - grafting

First, cut a Christmas cactus from the original mother plant as the scion, and then use a sharp knife to cut a section of the Ophiopogon japonicus as the rootstock. The skin on both sides of the scion must be completely peeled off and then cut into a wedge shape and inserted into the soil. Use the Ophiopogon japonicus as the rootstock and place it on the side.
