When making Korean kimchi, you need to prepare a cabbage, 50 grams of glutinous rice flour, a pear, an appropriate amount of water, an apple, half an onion, a carrot, a small handful of leeks, and two green onions.

Korean kimchi recipe steps

1. After removing the old stems of the prepared cabbage, cut it into four halves with a knife, and then apply salt on its roots. Put salt and warm water in a larger basin to make brine, put all the cabbage in it and soak it, put a heavy object on it, and marinate it for at least 24 hours.

2. Take out the soaked cabbage, remove the water, drain it, then add 50 grams of glutinous rice flour and cook it with water. After boiling, cook for five minutes, turn off the heat and cool it down. Put ginger, garlic, onion, apples, pears and other ingredients in a food processor and beat them into a paste. Take it out and mix it together with the glutinous rice water. Then add 100 grams of Korean chili sauce and appropriate amount of white sugar and mix well for later use.

3. Chop carrots, leeks, green onions and other ingredients into fine pieces, add them to the glutinous rice water and mix well. Then spread the prepared ingredients evenly on the pickled cabbage, making sure that every cabbage leaf is covered with the ingredients. After spreading, arrange the cabbage and marinate it. After a week, the homemade Korean kimchi will be ready.
