Seedling cultivation

Sowing time: Generally, sowing can be started after mid-January.

Seedling raising method in nutrient bags: Choose fertile and loose vegetable field soil as the seedbed. Deeply plow and dry the soil for one week, crush the soil, and use a sieve to sift out the fine soil for the nutrient bags. The seedbed should have a net surface of 1.2 meters and a ridge width of 30 cm. Make it high ridge and low moisture, and level the surface. Fill the nutrient bags with sieved fine soil, first fill 2/3 of the bag with soil, then put the seeds in, put 4 seeds in each bag, and then continue to fill the soil, fill the nutrient bags, and arrange them neatly in the seedbed. Water thoroughly with a spray bucket, then check the nutrient bags, and fill the nutrient soil if it is washed away by water, so that the cover soil is too thin or the seeds are exposed. Cover the nutrient bags with a layer of straw or pine wool, and finally cover them with a flat film, and press the film tightly with soil.

Seedbed management: Check frequently. Once the seeds sprout, ventilate and harden the seedlings in time, remove the covering, and change the flat film into a small arch shed. If the temperature drops sharply at night, cover the small arch shed with straw mats to prevent frost.

Field cultivation technology

Transplanting time: After mid-February or when the seedlings have one leaf and one heart, they can be transplanted in succession.

Field preparation: Deep plowing and drying for one week, deep fertilization of 2 tons of farmyard manure per mu, fine soil. According to the net surface of 1.8 meters, the ridge width of 30 cm, make high ridges and low ridges. Dig planting ponds on the surface of the soil, and make wide and narrow rows. When making wide rows, dig one planting pond in the middle of each surface of the soil with a spacing of 45 cm; when making narrow rows, dig two planting ponds on each surface of the soil with a spacing of 1.5×0.45 meters.

Transplanting method: When transplanting, use 5-10 kg of compound fertilizer per mu, spread it in the sowing pond and mix it with the soil. Transplant nutrient bags with 4 surviving seedlings in each pond, cover the surface with film and compact it, poke the film and take out the lentil seedlings, and finally irrigate the planting pond thoroughly with water to help the seeds take root.

Cultivation Management

Topdressing: 20 days after transplanting, apply 5 kg of urea (or manure water) + 10 kg of compound fertilizer per mu. Apply fertilizer 1-2 times before harvesting lentils. After lentils enter the harvest period, apply topdressing once every 15 days or so. Dosage: 5-10 kg of urea (or manure water) + 10-30 kg of compound fertilizer per mu. Water at the right time according to the growth of lentil plants.

Plant adjustment: After the lentils have survived, stakes should be planted and frames should be set up in time to guide the vines to the stakes. Three stakes should be planted in each pond, and the tops of the stakes should be tied tightly with wires. Finally, the tops of the stakes around each pond should be connected with solid wires to facilitate the climbing of lentil branches and vines, forming a fence-like growth. When the lentils enter the vigorous growth period, the leaves should be removed frequently, mainly to remove the overcrowded leaves, diseased leaves, insects, and old leaves, and to cover the leaves where the flowers and lentils are formed, so as to reduce nutrient consumption, increase ventilation and light transmission, and facilitate the growth of lentil pods.

Pest and disease control:

① Prevention and control of lentil rust and brown spot: spray 100 g of 70% methyl thiophanate or 20 g of 37% fenpropimorph with 60 kg of water per mu.

② Control of bean armyworm, small gray butterfly and tobacco budworm: spray 15-30 g of 3.3% abam·chlorpyrifos or 40-60 ml of 30% chlorpyrifos·chlorpyrifos with 60 kg of water per mu.
