Growth characteristics and cultivation techniques of Pleurotus geesteranus

Pleurotus geesteranus is generally grown in greenhouses. I don’t know how well you know about its growth characteristics. So today I will tell you about the growth characteristics of Pleurotus geesteranus:

Pleurotus geesteranus nutrition

The main raw materials for cultivating Pleurotus geesteranus are cottonseed hulls, broad-leaved sawdust, cabbage residue and crop straw, and the auxiliary materials are bran, rice bran, gypsum, lime, etc.

Temperature of Pleurotus geesteranus

The growth temperature of Pleurotus geesteranus is 2-35℃, but 24-26℃ is the most suitable; the growth temperature of fruiting body is between 5-30℃, and 10-26℃ is the most suitable. Different places can choose a reasonable cultivation season according to the climate, and generally mushrooms can grow.

humidity

Mycelium growth requires a culture medium humidity of 60% to 65%, 65% is the best environment humidity during the spawning period, and the site humidity for fruiting and growth requires an increase to 85% to 95%. The adjustment method is: hang a hygrometer on the cultivation site, open doors and windows for ventilation to reduce humidity; spray water around the ground and in the space to increase humidity.

Light

Pleurotus geesteranus does not require light during the spawning period, but requires a certain amount of scattered light during the fruiting and mushroom body development process, with the standard being that No. 5 font on a newspaper can be clearly seen in the corner of the mushroom field.

Air

It is an aerobic species, and fresh air is needed during the mycelial growth and mushroom body development process. Especially during the fruiting and growth process, if the site is not well ventilated, the mushroom body is easy to grow deformed. Ventilation can be achieved by opening doors and windows.

pH

The best pH value for mycelium growth is 6 to 6.5. The pH value can be adjusted by using lime and phosphate fertilizer and measured with test paper.
