Nutritional value of Phoenix edodes

The most common fungi we eat in the vegetable market are probably oyster mushrooms and phoenix tail mushrooms, and I like to eat phoenix tail mushrooms fried with meat the most, so today I will tell you some general knowledge about phoenix tail mushrooms:

Phoenix mushroom knowledge introduction:

Phoenix tail mushroom is the fruiting body of the fungus Pleurotus eryngii of the phylum Fungi, with fat and delicious flesh. Phoenix tail mushroom is the same as Pleurotus ostreatus in plant taxonomy, and also belongs to the Basidiomycetes, Agaricales, Trichodermaceae, and Pleurotus genus. It is native to the Himalayan hilly areas. Phoenix tail mushroom is a cultivated edible fungus introduced from abroad in recent years. It is native to tropical areas and is a new variety with economic value separated from Pleurotus ostreatus. It is widely cultivated abroad, especially in Southeast Asia. After my country successfully introduced it in Guangdong, Fujian, Shanxi, Jilin and other provinces since 1978, the cultivation range is currently expanding throughout the country.

The fruiting bodies of Phoenix tail mushroom grow in clusters, the surface of the cap is moist, bluish gray when small, almost black. The cap is 7 to 12 cm wide, and some are larger. The spores are cylindrical, smooth, and the spore print is white.

The life cycle of Phoenix tricholoma is that basidiospores germinate into monokaryotic hyphae, and monokaryotic hyphae (different sexes) combine to form binucleate hyphae. The binucleate hyphae combine to form fruiting bodies.

Nutritional analysis of Phoenix edodes:

Fresh phoenix tail mushroom contains crude protein, carbohydrates, fiber, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, calcium, iron, potassium, sodium and phosphorus. The protein content is higher than that of the currently cultivated domestic mushrooms, Agaricus bisporus, Lentinus edodes and Straw mushrooms. In addition, it contains all eight essential amino acids for the human body, accounting for more than 35% of the total amino acids. Therefore, eating phoenix tail mushrooms regularly can enhance human health. According to recent studies, some physiologically active substances contained in phoenix tail mushrooms can induce the synthesis of interferon, improve human immune function, and have anti-cancer and anti-cancer effects. Phoenix tail mushrooms contain very little fat and starch, and are ideal foods for diabetics and obese patients. They also have the effect of lowering cholesterol. People call them "healthy food" and "safe food".
