Fish Maw Porridge

[Functions and indications] Tonifies the kidney and replenishes essence, nourishes tendons and veins, stops bleeding, disperses blood stasis, and reduces swelling. Treats spermatorrhea caused by kidney deficiency, postpartum spasm, tetanus, hematemesis, metrorrhagia, traumatic bleeding, and hemorrhoids.

① "Compendium of Materia Medica" says: "For those with bamboo or wood thorns that have penetrated into the flesh for a long time and have not come out, apply white paste on all four sides of the sore. The flesh will rot and the thorns will come out."

The effect of fish maw porridge

① Treating kidney water deficiency, yin deficiency and blood deficiency: 1 jin of fish maw (fried bran flour until burnt, ground to remove coarse powder, fried again and ground again), 4 liang of Tribulus terrestris, 4 liang of Angelica sinensis (washed with wine), 4 liang of Cistanche deserticola (remove scales and wash with wine), 4 liang of lotus stamens and Cuscuta seeds (boiled with wine). ② Treat kidney deficiency, weak internal organs, nocturnal emission and loose stools: 1 jin of yellow croaker maw glue (chopped, fried into beads with clam powder, then stir-fried with milk and butter), 8 liang of Astragalus membranaceus (soaked in horse milk overnight, steamed for one stick of incense, roasted or dried in the sun), 2 liang of Schisandra chinensis. Grind into fine powder, add aged wine to refined white honey and boil again, wait until the honey is cold and make pills as big as mung beans. Take 80 to 90 pills each time, with warm wine or salt soup on an empty stomach. (Jujing Pills in "Zhengzhi Zhunsheng")

③ Treat postpartum convulsions and stiffness, which is caused by wind entering the uterus, the same as tetanus: 1 liang of fish bladder glue. Stir-fry snail powder until it is charred, remove the powder, and grind it into powder. Divide it into three doses and take it with decoction of cicada slough. ("Jingxiaochanbao")

④ Treat tetanus, lockjaw, and stiffness: burn 70% of fish glue, keep the essence, grind it into powder, add a little musk. Take 2 qian each time, mix with wine, or take with rice soup if you don't want to drink. ("Sanyin Prescription")

⑤ Treat vomiting blood: 8 inches long and 2 inches wide, roast until yellow, scrape 2 coins. Use 35 sugarcane sections, take the natural juice and mix it. (Experienced Prescription)

⑥ Treat metrorrhagia caused by redness and whiteness: 3 feet of fish glue, roast until yellow, grind into powder, cook with chicken eggs, and eat with good wine. (Compendium of Materia Medica)

⑦Treatment of retrograde menstruation: Fish glue (cut and stir-fry), new cotton (burned to ash). Take 2 qian each time, mixed with rice water. ("Duoneng Bi Shi")

⑧Treat postpartum blood loss: burn the fish bladder glue to preserve its properties, mix it with wine and boy's urine and take 3-5 qian. ("Sui Shi Guang Ji")
