How to cultivate Dendrobium? Planting method of Dendrobium

Many people have heard of Dendrobium, and know that it is a nourishing food and a Chinese herbal medicine with excellent medicinal effects. It is fresh and juicy, tastes tempting, and has a particularly high economic value in the market. In addition to these, Dendrobium also has a beautiful and elegant appearance and has a high ornamental value. Some people who like Dendrobium also want to grow Dendrobium themselves, but they don’t know how to do it. Today I will write down its planting method, and everyone will know how to grow Dendrobium after reading it.

How to cultivate Dendrobium

1. Prepare the substrate

Dendrobium is an epiphyte and cannot be planted directly like other plants. A suitable substrate must be prepared in the soil. After the substrate is prepared, it must be cleaned, disinfected and dried. Then it can be placed in a flowerpot or other cultivation container and the Dendrobium can be planted in it for maintenance.

2. Breeding environment

Dendrobium is a green plant that likes warm and humid environment. It should be placed in a warm and well-ventilated environment at ordinary times, and it should not be exposed to direct sunlight, but it should be provided with sufficient scattered light. In addition, the humidity of the environment should be maintained at about 60% during the breeding period. If the air humidity is too low, spray water into the air in time. If the humidity is too high, ventilate it in time.

3. Water and fertilizer

Dendrobium is particularly drought-resistant. It does not need excessive watering during the cultivation period. Under normal circumstances, it only needs watering every 10 to 15 days. However, you cannot use tap water directly for watering. You need to put the tap water in the sun and dry it for 2 to 3 days before using it. Dendrobium has a relatively large demand for fertilizer during its growth period. During its normal growth period, it should be fertilized once a month. The fertilizer should be a nutritionally balanced compound fertilizer.

4. Pest and disease control

During the cultivation period, Dendrobium may sometimes have some diseases and insect pests. If it has diseases, you can buy special medicine to spray it, which can make the diseases disappear quickly. If insect pests are found on the surface of Dendrobium, you can use artificial insect catching to solve it. In addition, the diseases and insect pests that appear during the growth of Dendrobium are mostly related to the environmental humidity, so you must pay attention to environmental ventilation after the diseases and insect pests appear.
