How to eat Vietnamese mini pineapple

How to eat Vietnamese mini pineapple

Vietnamese mini pineapple is very common in southern China. It is a tropical fruit and an important member of the pineapple family. However, it is very small, and the average weight of each pineapple is only more than 200 grams. Many people don’t know how to eat this Vietnamese mini pineapple. In fact, its eating method is similar to other pineapples. Let me introduce it in detail below.

1. Eat after ripening

The Vietnamese mini pineapples seen in the domestic fruit market are all imported fruits from Vietnam. They are late-ripening fruits. They are not fully ripe when harvested locally. Usually, they should be ripened as necessary after purchase. Wait until the peel turns yellow and the feel becomes slightly soft before you can remove the peel and eat the flesh directly. You can also chop the flesh and use it to make fried rice or stew some meat ingredients. The taste is particularly good.

2. Soak in salt water before eating

The way to eat Vietnamese mini pineapples is similar to the common pineapples in China. They both contain a large amount of bromelain. If eaten directly, it will cause allergies or harm people's stomachs. The best way to eat it is to remove the skin of the Vietnamese mini pineapple, cut the flesh into pieces, and then soak it in light salt water for 3 to 4 hours, then take it out and eat it directly.

3. Pineapple syrup

The sugar content of Vietnamese mini pineapples is much higher than that of domestic pineapples, and it has a relatively high nutritional value and has many health benefits for the human body. Vietnamese mini pineapples can be made into sweet soup for people to eat. When making it, remove the skin of 2 to 3 Vietnamese mini pineapples and cut the flesh into pieces, then put them in a pot and add an appropriate amount of rock sugar. Cook them together until they boil and then cook for more than ten minutes. When the pineapple flesh in the pot is soft and glutinous, the soup is slightly sticky, turn off the heat and take it out. After cooling down, you can eat it directly, or refrigerate it for a few hours before eating.
