The cultivation method of Osmanthus fragrans and the taboos of Osmanthus fragrans

Osmanthus fragrans is an evergreen small tree that is green all year round and can bring greenery to people. The leaves of Osmanthus fragrans are relatively small, but they grow very densely and are dark green in color. Although the flowers of Osmanthus fragrans are not stunningly beautiful, they have a strong fragrance and a unique flavor. Many families like to grow Osmanthus fragrans. Let's take a look at the methods of growing Osmanthus fragrans.

How to cultivate osmanthus fragrans

1. Soil selection

No matter what potted plants you grow, soil is the most important because it is the foundation of our survival. The best soil for growing Osmanthus fragrans is a mixture of sandy loam, fine slag and cake fertilizer residue in a ratio of 7:1:2. You can also use pond mud, peat and river sand in a ratio of 5:1:1. Remember to apply organic fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus fertilizer at the bottom of the pot.

2. Fertilization method

It is best to fertilize Osmanthus fragrans two to three times a year, which is very beneficial to the growth of seedlings. In May, it is the growing season of Osmanthus fragrans. At this time, fertilization should be increased, at least once a week, and the concentration of fertilizer should be ensured to be high enough. It is best to use a combination of 40% original juice fertilizer and 60% clean water.

3. Watering method

It is best to water the Osmanthus fragrans once a month. When the soil in the pot is dry, water it once. Do not water it too much. If you water it too much, it may cause the leaves of the Osmanthus fragrans to fall. Starting from May, it is best to put the Osmanthus fragrans outdoors and increase the number of watering accordingly. Basically, water it once every one to two days.

Taboos of Guri Fragrant

When cultivating Osmanthus fragrans, it is necessary to do a good job of pruning the plants. Cutting off the bad and withered branches and leaves can avoid the loss of nutrients and is more conducive to the growth of the plants. However, do not prune the Osmanthus fragrans during its flowering period, as this may cause the branches and leaves of the Osmanthus fragrans to be unable to recover in time after being cut, which will affect its normal growth.
