The mandarin duck jasmine is also called two-color jasmine or five-color jasmine, because this jasmine has different colors of flowers on the same plant after flowering, hence the name. I will write down the cultivation methods and precautions of mandarin duck jasmine in a while, and everyone will know how to grow mandarin duck jasmine after reading it.

Cultivation methods and precautions of Mandarin Duck Jasmine

1. The pot soil should be suitable

When growing Mandarin duck jasmine, the potting soil must be suitable. It is best to choose loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil with good air permeability and drainage. When preparing the potting soil for growing Mandarin duck jasmine, you can choose one part of leaf mold, one part of garden soil, and one part of sawdust or coal ash. Put them together and mix them evenly to make potting soil, which can be used to grow Mandarin duck jasmine. When growing Mandarin duck jasmine, avoid using alkaline soil.

2. Fertilizer and water management is very important

Fertilizer and water management is very important in the cultivation of mandarin duck jasmine. Mandarin duck jasmine likes a warm and humid environment, but it is not resistant to waterlogging. When watering, water must not be allowed to accumulate in the flowerpot, and water must be sprayed on the leaves in time during the hot summer weather, 2 to 3 times a day. Mandarin duck jasmine is also a plant that likes fertilizer. It needs to be top-dressed once after each flower withers, and then topdressed with liquid fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium ten days later. This can promote flower bud differentiation and improve its cold resistance, which is of great benefit to safe wintering.

3. Lighting conditions are important

The mandarin duck jasmine likes an environment with good lighting conditions and good ventilation, but it does not like strong light and has poor wind resistance. It can be moved to a sheltered place outdoors around the Qingming Festival every year. In summer, it can be placed in a ventilated and cool place or under a shade shed with 50% shade for management. Be sure to avoid direct sunlight, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow and burnt and fall off easily.
