How to grow mung bean sprouts? Steps and steps tutorial

Mung bean sprouts are a home-cooked dish that many people love to eat. However, with the continuous emergence of poisonous bean sprouts, many people have lost confidence in the bean sprouts sold on the market. For food safety, they no longer dare to buy and eat them. So they want to grow bean sprouts at home, but they don’t know how to do it. In fact, the method of growing mung bean sprouts is not complicated at all. I will write it down and tell you later. I believe you will be able to learn it after reading it.

Materials and tools for growing mung bean sprouts

When you want to grow mung bean sprouts at home, in addition to preparing an appropriate amount of mung beans, you also need to prepare tools. The tools you need here are two towels and a rice sieve with small holes, or other containers that can leak water.

How to make mung bean sprouts

1. Wash the prepared mung beans with clean water and put them in a basin. Then add enough clean water to soak them. The soaking time should not be less than 24 hours. After soaking, most of the mung beans have absorbed water and expanded. The size of the mung beans has grown a lot.

2. Wet all the prepared towels with clean water, take out one of them and place it in the prepared container with holes, then spread the soaked mung beans flat on the towel, cover the upper layer of the mung beans with another wet towel, and then place the container with mung beans on a larger plate, but keep the bottom of the container suspended in the air so that the mung beans can breathe better.

3. Use clean water to pour into the container containing mung beans every day. The water will soak the mung beans and then flow out from the small holes at the bottom. Generally, after 24 hours, the mung beans will grow small roots.

4. After three days, most mung beans will grow sprouts of about two centimeters. At this time, they can be harvested and eaten, or they can be allowed to continue growing. After about two days, the sprouts can grow to 4 to 5 centimeters, which is similar to the mung bean sprouts sold on the market.

5. When collecting mung bean sprouts, remove the towel on the top, then rinse off the bean skin with clean water, then collect the white and plump mung bean sprouts into a small basin, and cook or stir-fry them according to your needs.
