Tips for growing sprouts at home

1. Tools and seed selection for home sprout cultivation

When growing sprouts at home, you need to prepare tools such as vegetable washing baskets, paper towels, and spray bottles. In addition, seed selection is also very important. You can select seeds manually, choosing those that are large, plump, and have no worm holes. You can also put the seeds in water and remove the seeds floating on the surface, leaving only those high-quality seeds that sink to the bottom.

2. Soaking of home sprout seeds

After selecting the seeds for home sprouts, they need to be soaked in water. Necessary disinfection should be carried out before soaking. During disinfection, the selected seeds can be placed in hot water at about 55 degrees and turned over quickly. After the water temperature drops, let the seeds soak in water for about ten hours.

3. Growing sprouts at home

After preparing the seeds, wet the paper towel and spread it on the bottom of the vegetable washing basket. Then sprinkle the seeds evenly on the paper towel. After that, cover the seeds with a layer of wet paper towel and put the vegetable washing basket in a dark and ventilated place. You can also cover the seeds with a layer of opaque cloth and rinse it three to four times a day. Generally, sprouts will grow after a week and can be collected and eaten in time.
