How to store radishes in winter

How to store radishes in winter

Radish is a kind of vegetable that is available in large quantities in autumn. After being purchased by the family, it will deteriorate or lose a lot of water after being stored for more than ten days, making it difficult for people to store it until winter. In fact, there are certain methods to preserve radish. If you want to store radish until winter, you can read my detailed introduction to the storage methods of winter radish below.

How to store radishes in winter

1. Winter radishes can be buried in the soil

If you want to preserve radishes in winter and prevent them from spoiling, you can bury them in the soil. Friends who have a yard at home can dig a hole in the yard. The depth of the pit should be enough not to freeze, usually more than one meter. After digging the pit, place the large radishes you want to preserve in the pit one by one, and then bury them with soil. This way, the radishes can be preserved for a long time. When you want to eat them, dig them out and take one out, then cover them.

2. Radishes can be refrigerated in winter

Radishes can be refrigerated in winter. The best way to preserve them is to put them in a cold storage. When storing them at home, you can also put the radishes in a fresh-keeping bag, seal it and store it in the refrigerator or fresh-keeping room. The radishes can also be preserved for about a month. Although the radishes preserved in this way will not last as long as those buried in the soil, the freshness of the radishes preserved in this way is the best.

3. Winter radishes can be pickled and stored

In addition to the fresh-keeping storage method introduced above, radishes in winter can also be pickled and preserved. There are many ways to pickle radishes. The simplest one is to directly rinse the table salt with boiling water, then wash the radishes, remove the moisture and pickle them in salt water. Put the container of pickled radishes in a cool place, and you will get salted radishes after a month. This pickled salted radish can be stored for about a year without any deterioration.
