Cowpea Introduction:

According to the different skin colors of the pods, they can be divided into white-skinned cowpea, green-skinned cowpea, flower-skinned cowpea, red-skinned cowpea, etc.; according to the different responses of each variety to light, there are varieties that are insensitive to the length of light, such as the red-billed swallow, and varieties that are sensitive to the length of light, such as the hairy taro cowpea in Shanghai and Yangzhou, and the Beijing cowpea cultivated in Suzhou and Wuxi.

Contraindications:

① Cowpeas should not be cooked for too long to avoid nutrient loss.

② Don’t eat too much at one time to avoid bloating.

③People with qi stagnation and constipation should eat less cowpeas.

Diet therapy:

Take 50g of cowpea seeds, 30g each of glutinous rice grass root and bindweed root, and 250g of lean pork. Add water and simmer over low heat until the meat is cooked, add appropriate amount of seasoning and it is ready to eat. This recipe can be used for symptoms such as weak spleen and stomach, loss of appetite, constipation, fatigue, etc.

Take 200g of tender cowpea and 250g of water spinach. Add water and boil them into soup. This recipe can invigorate the spleen and eliminate dampness, and promote urination. It is mainly used for symptoms such as spleen deficiency and dampness.

Take an appropriate amount of raw cowpea, chew it carefully and swallow it, or mash it into fluff and soak it in cold water to drink. It can cure abdominal bloating caused by food accumulation, belching and other symptoms.

Stewing chicken with cowpea and water spinach can cure leucorrhea, leucorrhea and other diseases.

If you are bitten by a snake, you can use cowpea, mountain arrowhead, cherry leaf, soybean leaf to crush and apply it externally, which can heal you.
