But the joy of life is to keep creating and not stick to tradition, so this chocolate slimming eight-treasure porridge was born. Hawthorn is an ingredient that helps digestion and reduces fat, while oats are high in fiber and are also good for slimming and lowering blood lipids. Dark chocolate not only contains high antioxidants, but also contains ingredients that make you happy, so it is the secret weapon in this porridge. Job's tears can reduce edema, but because it is cold in nature, I added some purple rice and grapes to neutralize it. Usually, refined grains are used more in porridge. Although it is easy to digest, it can easily cause people's blood sugar to rise quickly. This slimming eight-treasure porridge is not only rich in fiber, but also contains healthy fats and Omega 3 fatty acids from walnuts, which can easily make people feel full and not hungry. Although hawthorn and dark chocolate are a bit sour, I don't recommend adding sugar when making porridge. You can add brown sugar, rock sugar or honey according to your taste when drinking. But if you want to lose weight, skip the sugar.

Ingredients for Chocolate Slimming Eight Treasure Porridge

0.5 cup oatmeal, 0.25 cup coix seed, 0.25 cup walnut kernel, 0.25 cup dried hawthorn flakes, 2 tablespoons purple rice, 1 tablespoon American raisins, 1 tablespoon wolfberry, 1 tablespoon dark cocoa powder, 4 cups filtered water

How to make chocolate slimming eight-treasure porridge

1. After boiling water in a pot, add washed coix seed, oatmeal, purple rice, hawthorn and walnut kernels, cook over medium heat for 20 minutes, then turn off the heat and simmer for 1 to 2 hours; this way, coix seed, purple rice and oatmeal kernels will be easier to cook;

2. Turn on the fire again, and after the porridge boils, turn to low heat and simmer for 2 hours until the porridge and the purple rice are completely soft;

3. Put the washed wolfberries and American grapes; add a little hot water to the cocoa powder in a bowl and pour it into the porridge. Cook for another 5 minutes and then turn off the heat.

4. Add sugar or honey according to personal taste when drinking.

Tips

1. You can soak the coix seeds, purple rice and oats in cold water overnight. If you don’t soak them in advance, use the method I mentioned: boil them first, then simmer for 1 or 2 hours.

2. Don’t cook wolfberries and grapes for too long, otherwise they will become bland.

3. It is best to use cocoa powder without sugar. If you can't buy pure dark cocoa powder, you can use cocoa powder with sugar.
