Explanation of the meaning of porridge: Epimedium, also known as Xianlingpi, Sanzhi Jiuyecao, Yangheye, etc., is the whole herb of the perennial herb Epimedium and Sagittatum or Heartleaf Epimedium of the Berberidaceae family, used raw or fried.

Epimedium is a famous traditional kidney-tonifying and aphrodisiac. It is one of the indispensable raw materials for Chinese medicine tonic decoction formulas and Chinese patent medicines. It is known as "Chinese medicine Viagra". Speaking of the origin of the name of Epimedium, there is a certain reason and basis. It is said that three-branched nine-leaf grass is a delicacy rich in mountain herbivores. The sheep growing in the northern part of Xichuan frequently mate every day and are regarded as "epimedium". However, people did not know the reason for the excessive mating of the sheep at that time. It was not until 1,500 years ago when the famous doctor Tao Hongjing demonstrated the name of Epimedium that the reason was revealed. At that time, people called bean leaves "Huo". The leaves of three-branched nine-leaf grass are very similar to bean leaves, also called "Huo". Tao Hongjing pointed out: "There are epimedium sheep in the northern part of Xichuan, which mate a hundred times a day, probably because they eat this Huo, so it is named Epimedium."

According to traditional Chinese medicine, epimedium is pungent and warm in nature and enters the liver and kidney meridians. It has the functions of tonifying the kidney and strengthening yang, strengthening tendons and bones, removing wind and dampness, and relieving cough and asthma. The "Ben Jing" says that it "treats impotence and injury, pain in the penis, promotes urination, strengthens qi and strength, and strengthens will." The "Compendium of Materia Medica" says that it "is warm in nature but not cold, and can benefit essence and qi." The "Da Ming Materia Medica" says that it "treats all cold wind and fatigue, replenishes the waist and knees, strengthens the heart, men cannot get up due to impotence, women cannot have children due to impotence, tendons and bones are tight, limbs cannot be used, the elderly are dizzy, and the middle-aged are forgetful." The "Classification of Herbal Properties" says that it "treats cough, removes wind, tonifies the kidney and strengthens the original yang." Pharmacological studies have shown that this product has the effect of promoting semen secretion in dogs, with the leaves and roots having the strongest effect, followed by the fruit, and the stems being the weakest. It has an androgen-like effect, which can make animals have hyperactivity in mating. It has a significant inhibitory effect on enterovirus, Staphylococcus aureus, influenza bacillus, and tuberculosis, and has a significant inhibitory effect on experimental hyperglycemia in rats. The extract tablets of this product have a certain effect on chronic bronchitis and its main symptoms of cough, sputum, and wheezing. In recent years, a Japanese scientific research institution has extracted a substance with anti-cancer effect from Epimedium. Animal experiments have shown that it has an inhibitory effect on mouse sarcoma S-180, with an inhibition rate of 60.4%; the inhibition rate of Lewis lung cancer is as high as 86.8%. Chinese researchers have also found that Epimedium can enhance the body's nonspecific immune defense function, improve the phagocytic ability of phagocytes, and promote lymphocyte transformation. It can be used as an adjuvant treatment for tumor patients. Clinically, it can be made into tablets, tinctures, injections, decoctions, ointments, wine preparations, porridge preparations, medicinal diets, etc. with a single flavor or in combination with other drugs, and the application prospects are very promising. Patients with kidney deficiency, impotence, and decreased sexual function can cook porridge and take it regularly to nourish the kidney and enhance sexual function.

Note:

1. People with hypersexuality should not use this product;

2. This product is extremely dry and can damage Yin and promote fire. It is not suitable for people with Yin deficiency and excessive fire.
