Yellow peach information

Yellow peach, commonly known as yellow peach, is a kind of peach, belonging to the genus Prunus in the Rosaceae family. It is named because of its yellow flesh. Yellow peach is very nutritious, containing rich antioxidants (α-carotene, tail-carotene, lycopene, lycopene and vitamin C, anti-free radicals, etc.), dietary fiber (a large amount of pectin in the flesh is cellulose needed by the human body, which is very easy to absorb, etc.), iron, calcium and various trace elements (the content of selenium, zinc, etc. is significantly higher than other fruits, making it the king of fruits).

Yellow peaches are soft but firm, sweet and less sour, fragrant, medium in moisture, and mature at 14-15 degrees sugar. Eating them regularly can help relieve constipation, lower blood sugar and blood lipids, resist free radicals, remove dark spots, delay aging, improve immunity, and promote appetite. They are considered health fruits and health-preserving peaches.

Yellow peach variety classification and origin

Yellow peaches are cultivated more in northwest and southwest China. In addition, the cultivation is concentrated in Dangshan County in northern Anhui, with a particularly wide planting area, which has become the main production area. With the development of canned processing, the cultivation area of yellow peach pulp in North China, East China, and Northeast China is also expanding. Main characteristics: Most varieties have upright tree postures, high flower buds, golden to orange skin and flesh, and the flesh is relatively tight, honey and tough, and most of them stick to the core. There are: Tongnan yellow peach, Dalian yellow peach, Rongcheng yellow peach, Shanghai Guangming yellow peach.

Yellow peaches were already valued and cultivated artificially in China three or four thousand years ago. By the Qin and Han dynasties, various important varieties of peaches had been bred, which continued to multiply into today's yellow-fleshed peach population.

Yellow peach seedling cultivation

Choose high, sunny, loose and fertile land. Deeply plough before sowing, apply sufficient base fertilizer and dig drainage ditches. The main varieties of yellow peaches in Dangshan County are Jintong No. 5, Jintong No. 6, Jintong No. 7, 83 yellow peach, Can 5. Fenghuang, Mingxing, etc. Yellow peaches are mainly rootstock seedlings. The rootstock variety is generally selected from hairy peaches. After stratification, the peach kernels are taken out for germination. Sowing is done in late March (it is best to cover the ground with film), sowing in double rows per ridge, sowing about 300,000 seeds/hm2, and strengthening fertilizer and water management in the middle to promote plant growth. There are two grafting methods, namely the "D"-shaped sowing method and the bud grafting method. The latter is mainly introduced. It is easy to operate and suitable for large-scale grafting. For scions, choose varieties with excellent comprehensive traits, take nutrient branches without diseases and insect pests in the middle and outer parts, remove the leaves and keep the petioles, select strong buds and make a horizontal cut 0.5 cm above them until the wood, and then cut the wood upwards to the horizontal cut 2 cm below the bud, and then stick the cut scion on the incision of the rootstock, align the cambium, and tie the scion and rootstock with plastic film. Check the survival after 2 weeks and loosen the tie in time. Bud grafting is carried out in early to mid-June and from mid-August to mid-September. In the former case, the grafted seedlings can be planted in the same year, and the suckers should be removed in time to promote the germination of seedlings. In the latter case, the seedlings become semi-finished seedlings in the same year, and the rootstock should be cut 0.5 cm above the bud grafting site in the spring of the following year to cultivate the grafted seedlings. Nitrogen fertilizer is mainly used in the early stage, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are mainly used in the later stage.
