Winter melon edible effects Winter melon usage and dosage

Winter melon is a kind of vegetable we often eat. So what are the effects of eating winter melon? Let me tell you today:

Edible effects of winter melon

Winter melon is sweet, light and cool in nature. It enters the lung, large intestine, small intestine and bladder meridians. It has the effects of moistening the lungs and producing body fluid, resolving phlegm and quenching thirst, diuresis and swelling, clearing away heat and summer heat, detoxifying and draining pus. It can be used for summer heat thirst, phlegm heat cough and asthma, edema, beriberi, fullness, thirst, acne, facial spots, rectal prolapse, hemorrhoids, etc. It can also detoxify fish and wine. Winter melon peel is good at diuresis; winter melon seeds are good at strengthening the spleen and nourishing the skin, relieving cough and resolving phlegm.

Tips

1. Dry the winter melon seeds and grind them into fine powder. Mix them with milk, soy milk or other foods. Take them once in the morning and evening every day, 6 to 10 grams each time. Take them for two months in a row. It can make your skin white, delicate and smooth, and play a role in delaying aging.

2. Choosing winter melon: Winter melons that are large, thick and moist, have a layer of powder on the skin, are heavy, have firm flesh, and are tender are good quality winter melons. Otherwise, they are of poor quality. Do not buy winter melons with streaks on the flesh or light bodies. If the flesh has streaks, it is because the flesh has become loose; if the body is very light, it means that the melon has gone bad and tastes very bitter.

3. Winter melon should be stored in a cool and dry place, and do not touch the white frost on the winter melon skin.

4. If you can't finish eating the winter melon, the leftovers are very easy to be contaminated and spoiled. After cutting the winter melon, wait for a while, and there will be spots of mucus on the cut surface. At this time, take a clean white paper of the same size as the cut surface and stick it on it, then smooth it with your hands and stick it tightly. It will still be fresh after 3-5 days of storage. If you use a non-toxic clean plastic film to stick it, the storage time will be longer.

Dosage of Winter Melon

1. Decoction, stew, make medicinal food, drink juice; or use raw winter melon for external application.

2. Winter melon is cold in nature and should not be eaten raw.

3. Winter melon is an ideal daily food for relieving fever and promoting diuresis. The effect will be more obvious if you cook it into soup with the skin.
