20 Kunming mice were divided into 2 groups and fasted for 24 hours. The experimental group was given 10ml of yam decoction (containing 1g/ml of crude drug) + 0.5g of activated carbon (commercially available), and the control group was given 10ml of normal saline + 0.5g of activated carbon, respectively. After 20 minutes, the mice were immediately killed by spinal dislocation, the small intestine was taken out and flattened, and the distance (cm) pushed by the carbon powder from the pyloric sphincter to the end of the small intestine was measured, and the percentage of this distance to the total length of the small intestine was calculated. The results showed that yam has the effect of stimulating small intestinal movement and promoting the emptying of intestinal contents.

5. Other nutrients contained in it are related to mucus and amylase, which have a nourishing effect and can aid digestion, stop diarrhea and eliminate phlegm.
