Common diseases of Agrocybe aegerita

Common diseases of Agrocybe aegerita

It can be said that any plant will get disease, so we must understand the types of diseases to better prevent and control them. So today I will talk to you about the diseases of Agrocybe agrocybe:

1. The pathogen of soft rot is Cladosporium heteromorphum

It first appears as dark brown water-soaked spots at the base of the stipe, then the diseased part gradually expands, softens, wilts, and rots, and produces a white flocculent mycelium mass, which later turns brown-gray. It often occurs in the late stage of cultivation, when the temperature is unstable and the humidity is high.

2. The pathogen of bacterial rot is Pseudomonas

Symptoms include water-soaked rot and foul odor on the mushroom body, brown spots with mucus, and the disease occurs on the stipe and cap, making the stipe black and the fiber bundles inside the stipe turning from white to black. It is easy to occur when the mushroom house is hot and humid, or when the fruiting body is mechanically damaged or injured by insects.

3. Neurospora Neurospora is a competitive fungus

After the culture medium is contaminated by the fungus, its hyphae develop very quickly and soon grow conidia, forming a pink mold layer on the surface of the medium. The mold layer is soft and mostly occurs near the bag ring or cotton plug. It then gradually covers the entire bag and can inhibit the growth of fruiting bodies.

4. Physiological diseases of water spot

When the mushroom cap is exposed to water, it often has yellow-brown spots like water stains, which usually do not rot. However, it affects the appearance of the mushroom body and the selling price is low. The cause is excessive humidity in the mushroom house, condensation of water droplets on the mushroom cap, poor ventilation, and excessively high carbon dioxide concentration.

5. Physiological diseases of dead mushrooms

When the young mushrooms grow to 3-6 cm in length, they wilt, turn yellow-brown and die, often in the entire bag, resulting in reduced production. The cause of the disease is that the temperature changes too much and the young mushrooms cannot adapt.
